Council of Europe

Agenda
For decades, Eastern Europe has been plagued by transnational organised criminal networks that destabilise entire nations mainly involved in the manufacture, smuggling, or sale of narcotics that ruin entire economies: but with the escalation of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe and increasing political instability, the scale of organized crime has escalated rapidly. The time has come for the Council to take a stand. Be it post-Soviet nations, or Balkan states, the question posed here is: Can the Council make peace in time and save Europe before institutions collapse? The crisis cannot be solved purely through rhetoric, or only through technical solutions. Pick a mix of the poisons, and the Council may just have a way forward. Restore peace. Reform policies. Rebuild the face of Europe.

About this Committee
The Council of Europe is an international organisation founded in 1949 to uphold human rights, democracy, and the rule of law across Europe. In this committee, delegates tackle the deeply entrenched networks of drug trafficking and organised crime that have long exploited the Balkan Route — one of the world's most active corridors for illicit trade.
