OAS
Organisation of American States

Agenda
The security of the Americas is being tested as transnational organized crime continues to expand its influence across borders. In El Salvador, criminal networks have destabilized institutions, fueled violence, and challenged regional stability. As these threats grow more complex, the need for collective action becomes increasingly urgent. This committee now faces a critical question: can the nations of the hemisphere unite under the Organization of American States to craft effective solutions, or will fragmented responses allow these networks to strengthen further? The future of regional cooperation and security now rests in the hands of this assembly.

About this Committee
The Organisation of American States is the world's oldest regional organisation, dedicated to strengthening peace, justice, and security across the Americas. Set against the backdrop of El Salvador's brutal gang crisis of 2017, delegates must forge regional consensus on combating terrorism and organised crime while navigating sovereignty, human rights, and political will.
